4 Easy Ways to Relieve Stress

The world is a stressful place, and it’s easy to get lost in all the to-do’s and assignments. We all carry a heavy weight on our shoulders and it definitely gets to us sometimes. It’s important to take time to relax and let that stress and anxiety melt away. You’ll be healthier, happier, and more productive.

 

Meditate

Just a few minutes a day can make a life-changing difference. Meditating allows time for you to focus on your intentions for the day and ease anxiety. You don’t need anything fancy to start, just a few minutes a day is a good start. Just close your eyes, repeat a mantra to yourself, something like “I feel at peace,” “I am worthy,” “Today is a good day and I’ll continue to work on myself.” Take deep breaths and center your breathing with your mantra.

 

Journal

Keep a journal for all the things you’re grateful for. It’ll help you remember all the things that are good in your life, that you’re happy about. At the end of the day, right before you go to bed. Write down 3 mini-miracles that happened that day. They can be anything from just a moment where someone made you smile or that you got a raise at your job. Writing down your thoughts at the end of the day is a great way to clear your head and come to realizations.

 

Breathe

Sometimes we forget to just breathe. Some days it’s okay if all you manage to is just breathe. Life gets hard, it gets messy, it gets ugly, and it seems simple, but just breathing can help. Just take a second, stop, and focus on one breath at a time. A five-minute break from whatever you’re doing, and really feel your breaths, feel them through your whole body.

 

Reach out

Talk to your friends! Share with them what’s going on and maybe you’ll gain a new perspective on what you’re dealing with. They could give you some insight into your situation that shifts your view of it. Message your friends and your family set up dinner with an old friend, reach out to people you feel comfortable talking to.
